| dc.description.abstract | La presente investigación aborda la contribución al desarrollo de competencias investigativas en estudiantes universitarios del curso electivo Bioquímica, Salud y Ejercicio de la Universidad Pedagógica Nacional, mediante una propuesta didáctica innovadora centrada en el metabolismo energético. Para tal fin, se diseñó e implementó la cartilla didáctica titulada "Las rutas de la energía", la cual se fundamenta en estudios de caso reales y en el enfoque de Aprendizaje Basado en la Indagación (IBL). La intervención pedagógica se estructuró de manera secuencial a través de las fases de orientación, conceptualización, investigación, conclusión y discusión propias del ciclo de indagación. Durante el proceso, se evaluaron específicamente tres competencias fundamentales: la formulación de hipótesis, el análisis e interpretación de datos empíricos y la comunicación científica. La investigación adoptó un enfoque mixto, con un predominio del análisis cualitativo respaldado por el apoyo estadístico para observar tendencias globales en el grupo participante. Los resultados obtenidos evidenciaron avances progresivos y transformaciones significativas en las dinámicas de aprendizaje de los estudiantes durante la implementación. Las producciones académicas mostraron mejoras sustanciales en la estructuración de hipótesis claras y delimitadas, la interpretación crítica de evidencias experimentales y la capacidad de comunicar hallazgos científicos con mayor rigor y organización. Asimismo, la cartilla permitió articular con éxito los contenidos bioquímicos teóricos con actividades experimentales, como la calorimetría, y situaciones contextualizadas derivadas de la ergoespirometría y la antropometría. En conjunto, la propuesta favoreció el desarrollo progresivo de las competencias investigativas mediante procesos continuos de indagación y retroalimentación, interpretando los resultados principalmente a nivel grupal debido al carácter colaborativo de las actividades desarrolladas. | spa |
| dc.description.abstractenglish | This research addresses the development of research competencies among university students enrolled in the elective course "Biochemistry, Health, and Exercise" at the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional, utilizing an innovative pedagogical approach focused on energy metabolism. To this end, an instructional workbook titled "Energy Pathways" (*Las rutas de la energía*) was designed and implemented, grounded in real-world case studies and the Inquiry Based Learning (IBL) framework. The pedagogical intervention was structured sequentially, following the orientation, conceptualization, investigation, conclusion, and discussion phases characteristic of the inquiry cycle. Throughout the process, three fundamental competencies were specifically assessed: hypothesis formulation, the analysis and interpretation of empirical data, and scientific communication. The study employed a mixed-methods approach, prioritizing qualitative analysis while utilizing statistical support to observe overall trends within the participating group. The results demonstrated progressive advancements and significant transformations in student learning dynamics during the implementation. Academic outputs showed substantial improvements in the formulation of clear, well defined hypotheses, the critical interpretation of experimental evidence, and the ability to communicate scientific findings with greater rigor and organization. Furthermore, the workbook successfully integrated theoretical biochemical content with experimental activities such as calorimetry and contextualized scenarios derived from ergospirometry and anthropometry.
