In youth soccer, decision-making is a key factor for success. SSGs are a training tool that approximates real game situations and promotes the development of technical, tactical, conditional, coordinative, and cognitive skills, as well as processes linked to decision-making. The main objective was to determine the effect of an SSG protocol based on emotional intelligence on decision-making and physical variables in under-12 soccer players. A 5 vs. 5 + goalkeeper protocol was implemented three times a week for eight weeks, resulting in a total of 24 SSG sessions for 20 players divided into an experimental group and a control group. The methodological approach was based on the positivist paradigm, with a quantitative focus, quasi-experimental design, and correlational scope. The main findings show improvements in all variables. The most marked differences between groups were found in CMJ strength and power, as well as in ABK jump strength and power. For the Yo-Yo test, a significant effect was found on VO2 max, phase, speed, and accumulated distance. On the other hand, in the Bar On, only a significant difference was found in the Adaptability dimension. Finally, for Tactic Up, the differences were two indices: General Play and Containment. It is concluded that the SSG protocol produced positive effects on physical and tactical performance, with a specific impact on emotional adaptability. These results guide planning focused on game and emotional principles. It is also advisable to monitor the retention of effects and their transfer to the game.eng
