Although significant progress has been made in recent years in the search for better therapeutic alternatives and in increasing survival rates, childhood cancer remains a highly complex condition whose effects compromise the overall well-being of those affected. Oncological treatments, along with extended periods of forced rest, produce exhaustion and physical discomfort that alter body structure and negatively impact the patient's general well-being. The objective of this research was to examine the relationship between cancer and variables such as body composition, fatigue, pain, and perceived well-being in a pediatric and adolescent population diagnosed with this condition. To this end, a quantitative, descriptive-correlational, cross-sectional study was conducted with 19 patients aged 5 to 17 years with a cancer diagnosis. The variables were assessed using bioelectrical impedance analysis to determine body composition, the Fatigue Severity Test, the Wong-Baker Faces Pain Scale, and the PedsQL 3.0 questionnaire in its oncology module. These instruments were administered directly to participants or with the assistance of their tutors. The results revealed changes in body composition, evidenced by a reduction in muscle mass and an increase in fat tissue. Fatigue levels were detected that interfered with daily activities, although they were not considered severe. Pain showed variable behavior, with a significant proportion of participants reporting no symptoms. Finally, quality of life showed an impact in multiple dimensions stemming from both the disease and its treatment. This manifested as learning difficulties in areas such as mathematics and writing, concerns about the effectiveness of the treatment and the risk of relapse, as well as limitations in communication.eng
