This action research project investigated the development of oral skills in 4th-grade students learning English as a foreign language at Colegio Gonzalo Arango. Initially, students struggled with speaking and expressing themselves in English, accompanied by low motivation. To address this, the project implemented the creation of videos using the school’s audiovisual approach, Communication and Media, to enhance oral skills. This method revealed that visual and auditory resources expand students’ self-expression in EFL contexts. The task-based language teaching (TBLT) approach guided the process, enabling students to develop oral skills through pedagogical and audiovisual activities that culminated in video production. The results indicated that audiovisual projects support English learning by fostering personal identity exploration and enhancing communicative abilities, which in turn broaden opportunities for self-narration.eng
