| dc.description.abstract | El artículo traza una cartografía de la educación de la infancia femenina en Colombia, entre finales del siglo XIX y comienzos del siglo XX. En ella se definen cinco ele-mentos que combinados determinaron lo que significó ‘ser niña’ en el país: educación física, educación moral, educación intelectual, educación estética y economía doméstica. Ese paisaje fue el escenario y el producto de un conjunto de prácticas y saberes que tuvieron que ver con el gobierno de sí misma y de los otros, pues la niña sería germen de lo femenino, de la mujer que cumpliría con su papel social como madre y esposa. | spa |
| dc.description.abstractenglish | This article draws a cartography of the education of female children in Colombia. In other words, it is a map defined by five elements that combined produce a kind of landscape around the meaning of “being girl” in our country between the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. These elements are: physical education, moral education, intellectual education, aesthetic education and education in home economics. This landscape was the scene and in turn was modeled by a set of practices and knowledge related to government: on the one hand, of herself, like a particular subject that should learn self-regulation; and on the other hand, of other people, because she would be the germ of feminine, the woman who would fulfill their social role as wife and mother. | eng |
