| spa |
| dc.description.abstractenglish | This action research study, grounded in a qualitative approach within a hermeneutic paradigm, examined the potential of poetry as a pathway to foster situated writing among 25 tenth-grade EFL students (ages 15–17) at Instituto Pedagógico Nacional in Colombia. Using various qualitative instruments, the study explored writing as a meaningful and contextualized practice, supported by a scaffolding process based on three stages: Echoes of the self: discovering my voice (pre-writing), Symphony of words: expressing my voice (writing), and Crafting my final verse: listening to my voice (post-writing). Findings revealed that poetry transcended its traditional role as a literary form to become a pedagogical tool that enhanced learning, identity expression, and writing development, functioning as an adaptive process for situated writing and promoting relevant engagement with language. Students’ writing was shaped by their emotions, personal experiences, and linguistic repertoires, positioning poetry as a space to express their inner voices, with Spanish serving as a mediating resource. Additionally, the integration of multimodal composition disrupted traditional textuality and expanded opportunities for emotional expression, highlighting poetry as a bridge between language learning and what students are, feel, and perceive. | eng |
