| dc.description.abstract | En el presente ensayo se muestran los diferentes factores, condiciones y circunstancias que le permitieron a Charles Darwin proponer su teoría de la selección natural y escribir, la que quizás es su obra más significativa: El origen de las especies. En el escrito se plantean las diversas interrelaciones que se dan entre ciencia y sociedad, y de cómo estas interrelaciones son esenciales para que se dé origen a una teoría científica. Igualmente se intenta desmitificar la imagen del científico como sabio y se resalta que la actividad científica es ante todo colectiva y no individual. | spa |

In this writing we explain the diverse interrelations thatcan exist between science and society, and how these interrelations are essential for building ascientific theory.
