The present research was carried out with 32 tenth grade students from Colegio Domingo Faustino Sarmiento IED, following a qualitative approach and an action-research methodology. From an initial diagnosis, difficulties in oral and written production in English were identified, as well as the need to strengthen critical thinking and digital literacy. To address these needs, PBL was implemented using news as a central axis. This strategy allowed students to analyze the veracity of information, develop critical thinking, and improve their productive skills. In addition, it promoted collaborative work and increased motivation for language learning. The results show that the pedagogical use of news in the classroom enhances both the learning of English and the development of key competencies for daily life.spa
