This monograph examines the pedagogical potential of music as a didactic mediation strategy for teaching urban biodiversity, using the case of Pseudopostega bogotensis, a micromoth recorded in green areas of Bogotá, as its reference point. Adopting a qualitative, documentary, and interpretive-analytical approach, the study reviews scientific literature on urban biodiversity, Lepidoptera, environmental education, science education, and musical mediations in order to establish a theoretical framework that integrates these fields from an interdisciplinary perspective. The analysis reveals that less visible urban species continue to be marginalized in educational contexts due to taxonomic, curricular, and cultural biases, limiting ecological literacy and impoverishing the understanding of the city as a living system. In response to this issue, the monograph argues that music—through soundscapes, active listening, rhythm, and sonification—can serve as a sensitive pedagogical mediation capable of strengthening perceptual attention, fostering more meaningful connections with the environment, and expanding access to biological knowledge. The study concludes that the integration of biology, art, and education offers a robust pathway for enriching the teaching of urban biodiversity, provided that it is supported by pedagogical intentionality, conceptual rigor, and specialized teacher training.eng
