| spa |
| dc.description.abstractenglish | This study aims to analyze the perceptions of participants in the ActiVAS strategy of the National Active and Healthy Routes Program in Colombia, in order to understand its impact on social cohesion in community settings. The research focuses on recognizing physical activity as an element that transcends the purely bodily and physical, to be understood as a sociocultural practice that can strengthen bonds of trust, belonging, and community recognition, particularly in hard-to-reach areas. Using a qualitative approach with a phenomenological-hermeneutic design, the study focuses on understanding the lived experiences of the participants, relating their narratives, experiences, meanings, and forms of interaction. Data collection was carried out through semi-structured interviews with participants, logistics personnel, and non-participants in the municipality of Madrid (Cundinamarca) and the city of Cúcuta (Norte de Santander), using a purposive sample defined by criteria of diversity and theoretical saturation. Regarding data analysis, Atlas.ti software was used, employing a coding and categorization process to construct semantic networks on social cohesion and its relationship to the strategy. The results show that, for participants, the ActiVAS strategy not only provides access to physical activity but also fosters interaction and social dynamics among different generations, promoting closer relationships among neighbors by revitalizing an environment with greater use of shared space. Consequently, accessibility to the strategy, use of the street, proximity to residences, and free access are conditions valued by participants that generate trust and mutual support. In this sense, social cohesion manifests itself in experiences of recognition, coexistence, and a sense of belonging associated with the activities taking place on closed streets. In conclusion, the study provides qualitative evidence on how ActiVAS participants perceive the relationship between the strategy and social cohesion, showing that the intervention is valued as a space that contributes to strengthening community ties and building community around the temporary use of public space. | eng |
