¿Comprometidos o distanciados? Un análisis de la investigación en educación.
(Editorial Universidad Pedagógica Nacional, 2022-01-01) Londoño Pérez, Pilar
This article corresponds to the result of research in which a set of projects on the educational field were analyzed in the light of Norbert Elias’ sociological theory of knowledge. In particular, the research exercise was developed from two terms that con-dense his theoretical proposal: commitment and distancing. As a result, characterization of such research is outlined, identifying its tendency towards commitment (posture based on emotions and experience) or distancing (posture based on rationality). Finally, this article closes with a reflection on the aspects with which it is necessary to be distanced or committed if the objective is to construct, through research, increasingly adequate and pertinent knowledge about education.

El desafío kantiano: pensar la paz.
(Editorial Universidad Pedagógica Nacional, 2024-01-01) Díaz Soler, Carlos Jilmar
In their examination of war-related inquiries, several scholars in the domain of “educational research” omit a crucial aspect of the discourse: the notion, as posited by Kant (1724-1804), that war is inherently tied to the human condition. This oversight leads to a lack of depth in exploring the cultural and social dimensions, as well as the research challenges involved in the peda-gogical understanding. To address this gap, this article delves into two of Kant’s works: “Perpetual Peace” (1795) and “Conjec-tural Beginning of Human History” (1786), to scrutinize the distinctive discourse he introduces on the issue of war. Reflecting 300 years after Kant’s birth, it highlights a pivotal moment: the shift towards an operational approach to this issue, which does not differ from the conventional treatment of other subjects. This enticing prospect tempts one to forsake thorough analysis and reflection, relegating them to the imagined realms of an “operational function” as defined by the user.
