    Podcasting : a way to improve integrated skills through blended learning.

    The present document unveils a proposal of pedagogic and didactic innovation, which seeks to implement podcasting to improve Integrated Skills through Blended Learning in nine graders' students in Bogotá.The internet offers many ways to practice English interestingly. Podcasting seems a significant strategy to practice the whole skills. Accordingly, learners are expected to develop various activities linked to podcasts until the final cycle, which is the creation of a podcast, taking into account the elements worked during the whole process. All the procedure behind the creation of a podcast involves working the integrated skills collectively. Thereby, technology plays an important role in this proposal. By Blended Learning, there can be a balance in the use of technology and the classroom (use of technology in a face-to-face session). In the classes, the teachers can use technological devices such as videos, digital boards, computers, etc. Thus, it would not be a traditional environment but the mix of technology resources and a physical place like a classroom. Therefore, 10 classes of 45 minutes each were designed and divided into 3 cycles with the purpose of improving integrated skills during and after the creation of podcasts by students.

    El siguiente es una investigación acción de carácter cualitativo realizada con estudiantes de segundo grado en el colegio Instituto Pedagógico Nacional ubicado en la localidad de Usaquén. En esta población se encontraron varias dificultades respecto a sus habilidades comunicativas en inglés. A partir de lo anterior, se realiza una propuesta de enseñanza para desarrollar las habilidades integradas a través de tareas basadas en canciones para niños, en donde se tienen en cuenta el contexto y los intereses de esta población en particular para generar interacciones comunicativas auténticas.

    Improving integrated skills through gamification in the EFL classroom.

    The current social environment that surrounds the student’s perspectives and preferences causes an effect in the way to eventually interact with their learning processes. Gamification is a 21st century approach that proposes the use of the concepts of games to trigger motivation improvement, better performances, and better cognitive achievements, encouraging social interaction and independencies, and improving competitiveness between students through the learning process. Furthermore, the perspective of Role-Playing Games would be one of the many possible dynamics to adjust Gamification to an educational environment by structuring the proposal in disposal of the different integrated skills and enhancing their competitiveness through their learning process in an EFL classroom.
