This article seeks to give an account of the research done on memory in two Colombian novels, from the reading and writing process. The novels Flores blancas para papá, by Beatriz Helena Robledo (2012), and El gato y la madeja perdida, by Francisco Montaña (2013), are the starting point for understanding the link between memory and identity. To do this, and in order to reflect on the relationship between the construction of memories and literacy, similar parts of each story are told, in which the protagonists are two girls who have suffered the struggles of war; one turns to her memories following the loss of her father, and the other one turns to memories to understand her new context with regard to her father. The paper also gives an overview of the phenomena that the protagonists go through, to support the importance of children’s reading in a country that has lived through the war.

This article describes some research results with students in the Transition grade that sought to strengthen the development of oral communicative skills and transform the teaching practice. For this purpose, educational action research was used as a qualitative research methodology, together with the Lesson Study method, to gradually understand, through participant observation and documentary analysis of five cycles of reflection, the necessary transformation that must be generated in teaching practices to move from a teacher who imposes his/her monologue in the classroom to a dialogic practice of knowledge. Among the main findings, it is evident that active listening, cognitive stimulation, the resignification of school time, and the planning of clear learning objectives, when interrelated, achieve active teaching process that makes it possible to expand children’s repertoire of words to denote their symbolic universe.

This paper aims to inquire about the pedagogy of María Montessori in Argentina from the point of view of the history of education. In order to achieve this goal, the historical sources analyzed were two of the most critical journals in the first half of the 20th century: El Monitorde la EducaciónComún and La Obra. The first was the official review of the National Education Council, which oversaw Argentinian primary education as a government organ. The second was driven by a group of teachers and was formerly known as the official representation of the New School in Argentina. This investigation looks for marks and hints on the reception among Argentinean teachers of this pedagogy, internationalized since the second decade of the 20th century, over these two journals. As the main contribution, we learn about different ways of appropriation of Montessori’s pedagogy as well as the critics of her proposal and its usage to discuss positions of power in the local pedagogy field.

This article deals with the transformations that museums have undergone in contemporary times, more precisely the rupture with the exhibition spaces of modernity (white cube) and the arrival of expanded museums that take over the urban space, including projects such as the Precarious Museum, the Pedestrian Museum, the Street Museum, the Platform Museum, and the Modular Museum. The figure of the museum has not only expanded in the public space, but it is getting closer to everyday spaces every day, both in the increase of virtual museums, available to be visited in the users’ homes and in the formation of house museums. These processes of transformation and expansion of museums allowed the development of two research-creation processes, in which it is proposed to understand the everyday spaces artistically; on the one hand, Museums at home make a visual and written story about different objects according to the importance they have had in people’s lives; on the other hand, Casadentro: traditional knowledge of everyday domesticity in women’s narratives, a project carried out in the territory of Riosucio, Caldas-Colombia, through the co-creation of expanded narratives. Both projects make visible through museographic strategies, the symbolic, affective, and sensitive value of inhabited spaces.

This article arises from the general approach to the following problem: are there some fundamental features in the plastic creation processes? Due to the breadth of this question, this paper is specifically limited to answering this question from a hermeneutical approach on the processes of creation in the training practices in plastic arts carried out at the Departmental Institute of Fine Arts, Cali, Colombia. To do this, we will first explain some fundamental concepts of the hermeneutical position H.G. Gadamer, to test an interpretation of the processes of plastic creation from this point of view and the possible sense open to the interior of these creation processes.

This article seeks to make visible some considerations and elements related to the training of Biology teachers in Colombia, which are taken from the research work carried out in the framework of the Interinstitutional Doctorate in Education of the Uni-versidad Pedagógica Nacional. From a historical approach, the aim is to understand the relationships that have made possible the emergence of the first graduates in Biological Sciences in the country. Thus, issues such as the updating in modern pedago-gical methods, the increase in the population of qualified teachers for the attention of the regions, the improvement of working conditions, the positioning of science as a key element of modernization, and the concern for life regarding its regulation, are fundamental aspects to understand the relevance of biology at the time and need to have teachers trained in this knowledge. These relationships become important to the extent because it allows us to problematize and question the training of biology teachers at present, to place under suspicion its possible displacement due to the few training programs that exist and the inter-disciplinary view that is installed from the natural sciences, life sciences or complex sciences.
