    In this article a reflection is made on how El Bogotazo, as a fundamental historical fact in the history of Colombia and popular irruption or revolt, has been exposed in school textbooks for the teaching of social sciences in our country; To this end, four books were published, published between 1994 and 2007, and the proposal of thematic contents, the iconographic contribution and the pedagogical commitment were analyzed with the purpose of determining, based on the historical event defined, the formative value of these texts in The construction of a critical reading of the history and reality of the country.
