Ítem La escuela del tiple en Colombia Encuentros y desencuentros de una comunidad pedagógico-musical(2024-12-20) Santafé Villamizar, Oscar Orlando“It is not in the interest of this research to describe the instrument as such, nor its construction elements, its configuration, nor to make a descriptive tour through the music traditionally associated with its interpretation or its history; it is not about describing the tiple, a work that has already been done in other spaces, but its school”. Based on this slogan, Professor Oscar Orlando Santafé presents to his readers this book, which aims at reconstructing a pedagogical-musical community, based more on the daily relationship of its actors than on curricular or institutional formality. In other words, it describes the teachers, artists, students and listeners who are part of the school that is built around a typical -but little studied by the academy- instrument of Colombia, in its different regions: the tiple. Delving into the particularities of the pedagogical discourse of the tiplistas, a journey carried out hand in hand with the key figures in this history, the author traces the technical, compositional and pedagogical horizons that allow a better understanding of this object that, although it is the same, sounds different in each of the regions of the country, a condition that the author highlights, according to its heterogeneous nature. In this sense, based on the need to approach composition as a primary input of original music for the tiple and with the objective of leaving a written record of a phenomenon that historically has moved from one region to the other, the author highlights its heterogeneous nature.
