Ítem Exploración de la relación entre coordinación motriz y desempeño académico.(Editorial Universidad Pedagógica Nacional) Salgado Cajales, FaridThis article collects outstanding results that show how bodily motor coordination is the foundation for the development of basic cognitive functions and processes and show the results obtained in a case study. A student population of elementary school students ages 11-15 years of age was described by their performance in motor coordination and academic achievement based on the hypotheses and theses that emerge from the relations-hip between bodily experience and cognitive development and in the framework of applied research. The information was collected through psychomotor and academic tests and analyzed through statistical methods at an exploratory and correlation level. The objective of the research is to identify variables and factors that improve the effectiveness of the articulation of the processes that occurin the scenarios of physical education, art, music, and sports practice with the demands of the development of cognitive and conative functions. For this, a database has been structured that facilitates the exploration of said relationship based on different variables. In the analysis of the results obtained, there is a tendency, especially in the female population, to correlate high academic performance with advanced levels of motor coordination.
