The main purpose of this book is to crystallize the methodological approach that can be used in a course on Euclidean flat geometry. Such a methodological approach is described through the type of tasks given to students, the supporting technological resources to perform those tasks, and the type of interaction between teachers and students or among students that supports the construction of knowledge in the classroom. More specifically, the crystallization is reflected in the presentation of the 46 open problems proposed, the solution of which leads to a sufficiently rich mathematical discussion to build the elements that will form the theoretical system that is being consolidated throughout the course on Flat Geometry from the academic program offered by Universidad Pedagógica Nacional for the initial training of math teachers.

This book is written for people who are interested in Mathematics Education, teachers, and PhD and master's degree students. It is intended to help fill in a gap in reference bibliography to guide research processes in the Spanish-speaking educational community. For this purpose, the book presents two researches: one was conducted by the Aprendizaje y Enseñanza de la Geometría group, and the other one by the Educación Estadística group of Universidad Pedagógica Nacional (Bogotá, Colombia) in 2010 and 2011, with the support of the Research Center, CIUP. Both teams focused their research on the initial training of teachers, with the conviction that, by recognizing that geometry and probability are fragile in school mathematics, it is necessary to influence the mathematical education of future teachers in order to strengthen these domains in the future.
