Specifically, the authors attempt to identify the shortcomings revealed in the management of notions, properties and procedures related to the concept of structure, emphasizing on the mathematical activity of representing, that is, symbolizing, coding, decoding, visualizing and modeling. The authors of this important and practical work designed a set of seven activities, aiming to show academic environments of creative and pedagogical math work and to study and compare proposals known in other scenarios.
