Ítem Bases modernas/coloniales de la razón evaluadora: racismo epistémico, eurocentrismo, violencias.(Editorial Universidad Pedagógica Nacional, 2022-01-01) Giuliano, FacundoThis article offers explorations and reflections from ongoing research on the modern/colonial bases of evaluative reason. Star-ting from the minimal question about epistemic racism, we enter sources of analysis that invite us to think about how within education lives, since the Conquest of America and the establishment of modernity/coloniality, this type of rationality and its Eurocentrism is an inexorable reference to the configuration of pedagogical approaches that are aligned to the cognitive needs of capitalism. In this sense, the formation of the modern/colonial school is investigated, which turns teachers into examiners, evaluators, executors, and students into potentially condemnable and guilty suspicious subjectivities until they prove otherwise. For this reason, a passage is dedicated to analyzing the figure of the evaluator and it continues with an approach to some types of violence involved in this (patriarchal) reason for ser and hacer. From there, we perceive an experiential conglomerate that tries to metaphorize the mistreatment of education (as a vital force and not as a disciplinary thing) by observing pedagogical avatars of otherness that enable delinking of evaluation as an educational re-existence. Towards the end, a discussion with bell hooks is provided as a way of seeing different persistence of the problem and the importance of decolonizing education as a practice of freedom.
