Based on a doctoral thesis developed at the Paulista State University (Unesp), Brazil, the text addresses the foundations and principles that underlie the curricular proposals oriented towards scientific training with an environmental focus. The work analyzes how the curricular contents are environmentalized in chemistry teacher training programs in Colombia, taking as its axis national policy documents, academic plans of three selected universities and the trends identified in the country's higher education.
