    The main objective of this article is to present the theories analyzed in order to understand the curiosity process in children, which allow us to extend the concept in cognitive development field and its relationship with educational tasks. This analysis includes base theories concerning the concept; subsequently, other conceptions of curiosity are explored and it is also established its relationship with other aspects of human development, in order to recognize its conceptual value, as well as its scope and limitations.
