The article presents the results of the playbased Expedition, a research carried out by the gocemos research group of Universidad de Antioquia between 2017 and 2019. It aimed to make an inventory of popular and traditional playful practices in the department of Antioquia, addressing them as a fundamental part of the history and identity of human groups that go beyond their usefulness to the world of consumption. the exercise was addressed from ethnography, which implied the research team being in the territory to approach the dynamics close to the object of discussion through the techniques of participant observation and interview. From this exercise, it stands out that popular and playful practices are an important part of the intangible cultural heritage of the peoples by which identity is strengthened and the collective sense of life is reinforced according to the traditions and expectations of the communities in coherence with the specificities of the territories. Likewise, both the practices and the spaces for recreation and leisure do not escape the unifying intentions of behaviors, from moralizing and disciplining positions.
