    Enseñanza de la historia de África en Costa Rica: hacia un cambio de paradigma.

    This article analyzes the curricular transformation of the subject Teaching of Social Studies in secondary education in Costa Rica, concerning the contents related to the history of Africa. From the comparative analysis of the text of the 2003 and 2016 versions of the program, it seeks to evidence the advances, deficiencies, and challenges in the curricular transformation, in the face of the reproduction of a Eurocentric perspective when addressing these contents, considering the impact of recent political reforms that recognize the multiethnic and multicultural character of this nation. This article takes a comparative approach to the curricular transformation of this subject, based on the text analysis of the program versions of the years 2003 and 2016, thus, the advances, deficiencies, and challenges in the curricular transformation are evidenced in the face of the reproduction of a Eurocentric perspective when approaching these contents.
