Recursos educativos para la enseñanza de la nanotecnología en la educación primaria, secundaria y media
      (2024-12-20) Torres Romero, Lady Johanna
In Colombia, specialized publications for teacher training in nanoscience and nanotechnology are virtually nonexistent or scarce. This shows us that there is still a long way to go and the importance of generating educational materials to guide teachers' pedagogical work in this field. Educational Resources for Teaching Nanotechnology in Primary, Secondary, and High School Education is presented, therefore, as one of the first books to contribute to the training and preparation of natural science teachers, who will be able to select the most appropriate materials, tools, and strategies for implementing nanoscience and nanotechnology content in their classrooms without ignoring their educational context. There are multiple ways to teach these topics to elementary, secondary, and high school students. From practical laboratory work, the inclusion of analogies, the use of games, to field trips, visits to museums, and other ICT-mediated environments, to name a few, teachers will be able to enrich and strengthen science education. It is important to advance the creation of strategies for the dissemination and teaching of nanotechnology in primary, secondary, and secondary education, and for these topics to begin to be linked in courses corresponding to the exact, physical, and natural sciences. With the goal of combining efforts to create strategies to train preservice and practicing teachers throughout the country, this publication seeks to motivate and incentivize other professionals at higher education institutions to update their curricula, linking nanoscience and nanotechnology topics in undergraduate and graduate programs.
